You may have noticed the seasonal veg we have during the year is a superior beast. This is because we have a dedicated grower who has such a passion for nurturing tasty morsels from the soil.

David will grow anything we ask of him. Occasionally it doesn't work (he can't control the weather yet) - last year fennel failed due to early planting - but he'll bounce back and produce something else wonderful - he always does.

This year he has supplied us with purple-sprouting broccoli, asparagus, celeriac, cucumbers, spring onions, carrots, leeks, heritage cherry tomatoes, beef tomatoes, borlotti beans, peas, broad beans, fine beans, runner beans, 4 types of kale, cabbage, globe and Jerusalem artichokes, sweetcorn, courgettes, Florence fennel, spinach, chard, parsnips, aubergines, Jalapeño peppers, herbs, walnuts, rhubarb, plums, Worcester Pearmain apples, Ellison’s Orange apples and our best-selling bagged salad leaves complete with nasturtium/marigold flowers.
