A practical guide which is designed to help readers develop a repertoire of raw food and dishes and give them access to some basic staples which are useful to have in the fridge or kitchen cupboard.
Superfoods are the buzz word these days, and while the recipes do use some superfoods, the focus here is on real foods, those nutrient dense heroes that deliver all the macro, micro and phyto nutrients our bodies need.
There are many recipes that take no longer than 15 minutes to create and some that are more complex, like the Incan Cacao Torte or Rawsagne (a raw plant based version of the popular lasagne recipe). All recipes have been created to give nutritional excellence for super immunity – to wellness and longevity. All recipes are also naturally free of gluten, dairy and refined sugar. Natural sugars are used very sparingly.
The book also contains nutritional information, collated for the book by nutritional therapist, Rowena Paxton on the food heroes used in the recipes, explaining why certain foods are particularly healthy or beneficial to the human body.
The aim of the book is to inspire those new to raw food as well as those who have been eating raw for a while but are looking for more ease in the kitchen. It’s a workbook which gives additional ideas on variations and tips, as well as note fields with every recipe to encourage the reader to create their own variations and taste preferences.
